How to make gold - fast
I am a man, a very poor man.
Of corse I am talking about my guild wars character. I have had at most 16k and spent it all in the next half hour. Now my main money is about a k or two. I have only nightfall, and am only on the mission where u have to cross the desolation, I need to know how to make money fast. Some people say to sell stuff, I do but it doesn't earn me much, at all. Some people say the really valuable stuff drops in the underworld, but I have to ask one question. WHERE IS THIS UNDERWORLD? So I hope u can answer my question and give me tips, I would appreciate them. |

Well, whatever happened, it sure soured you.
Anet wants players to play for fun and that in such a way that they don't spoil the fun of others. Almost all the changes I've encountered so far (8 months+) have been significant improvements. And I'm talking about the very things that seem to have pissed so many off. Guess what: Loot scaling hasn't affected me at all. I always play in a full party. And still, with 8 characters, all that are not using 15k armour are doing so because there is not better looking 15k armour available for the class (Ritualist, Monk, and the just born Paragon). And I've still got 200k in the bank. From regular play, that is. Nightfall treasures, identified whites from questing and missioning, and bingo. Why, only yesterday, I made 2.5k in the space of two missions and theiur connecting quests. So, Darko, try to get with the times, and stop souring the game for everyone else. |

I haven`t played for a while, so I`m not sure about this, but if your character is a Dervish, which is a Nightfall exclusive profession, you can do a Desolation run. Running from Sunspear Sanctuary to Gate of Desolation, shouldn`t be to difficult.
You can also join a UW or FoW group in hopes of getting ectos/shards. It`d be better to team up with a person you know or guild mates so they can guide you through explaining what its like. You have to pay 1K IF you go solo, so I thought a group might save some cash... Its 1,000 divided by the number of people in your group. |

....or you can get your hands on one of those FoW entry scrolls, and enter regardless of who has favour.

Some you can trade at NPC's (like ectos), others you can sell to other players. For example I don't know the current price for Titan gemstones, but those were a lot more expensive than ectos. |

15 k armor doesn't look better???..sign #2 oooooooo!!!!!! 2.5k?? WOW you could almost buy..ummm...errr..what could you buy with that? maybe a half dozen ben cakes or something? Sign # 3 that your post is stupid....Loot scaling is fine so long as they reduce cost of materials and armors and runes, but since armors are fixed cost and now materials don't drop very often it is obvious that Loot scaling pushes people to buy gold, it's the only way to get any of that stuff without months of grind and lots of people got this game because it said no grind....and don't start talking to me about what you don't "have to have", I will decide what my characters do and do not have to have |

Buy Prophesies or you can rule out money making, sorry.
Or, just look for a new game because someone like you (and please don't take this as a flame because I'm like this too) wants instant gratification when it comes to money- and you're not going to get that with the current economy. Luckily for me I made all my money back before the AoE scatter was added so I'm alright. All I can suggest is make ALOT of characters and run the treasure chests whenever they are available (wiki it). gl hf mb |

@Keithark:
1: Loot scaling has not affected my earnings. At all. I made 2 solo runs just before the scaling kicked in, that's all. The only effects it has had were thus indirect - it has started to knock down prices. But, that's only starting to take effect. 2: Most 15k armor looks better than normal armor. It's certainly more dtailed. However, taste comes into the question. I don't like the way monk, Ritualist and Paragon elite armor look, so I choose to use normal armor. I could certainly afford to go 15k if I wanted to. 3: 2.5k earned while also having -nonrepetitive- fun is a very good deal. That's 2 new skills (5 if you buy tomes, at current prices). That's 10 of low costing rare materials, or 5 of the medium costing ones. That's 1/6th of a 15k armour piece. Your problem is greed, that's all. |

You need money and your in Nightfall let me think...
1. Have you hit all the free chests. DAMMN thats a great start. 2. Do you ID all you drops including whites. 3. The first role of any RPG is pick up everything and sell it. 4. Do all the Vabbian quests that give you Trade contracts. Trade them for rubies. Sell to other players. Gold is the easiest thing to get. Stop spending it like water on dumb crap. A req 9 purple does the SAME thing as a req 9 gold for a hellll of a lot less. |

First of all, look on guildwiki for maps of all the free chests throughout nightfall, this is the only campaign with these, and if you open them all you will make about 30k or more.
My main way of making money is merchanting, first of all look around in the big trade districts, in your case kamadam, and see what is in demand, look on guru in ventaris corner, see what prices are like, buy low sell high and that sort of thing. I maxed storage yesterday, and at least 80% of it came from merchanting. As you were talking about the UW, that is a good place to farm , however it is very hard and you will need to find a good build to do so. So anyway, good luck with your hunt for gold, i hope i have helped out |

Learn to solo certain areas. You get to keep all the gold that way. You did not mention your profession but with the right skill set you can take on a whole lot of areas by yourself and keep all the drops. Even if you can't solo yet, reduce your party size until you can. That will increase your gold, your item drops, and any rare drops fall to you. Listen to what is selling in town that is hot, certain green weapons etc, and go after those and sell them.

Well if you want to only use Nightfal skills, but solo the FoW, there is a paragon build that I know of.
http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:P/any_FoW_Paratrooper I've never tried it, since my Paragon is a survivor, and I'd like to keep it that way. |

Using an ID kit on whites is not a waste of money. Identifying white items increases their value.
Try it.

Actually, just ID the high-level white items. The low-level white items aren't worth identifying at all. |
